LumaGrip™ a Step Change in Anti-Slip, Illuminated Nosings.
Illuminated stair nosings have been available for many years using LEDs but they have always been bulky, complicated, high maintenance and expensive. LumaGrip™ is set to change this with a range of illuminated inserts that replace existing infill in standard Aluminium and uPVC nosings. LumaGrip™ also comes with the added benefits of having a higher anti-slip rating and a glare free illumination.
 
Standard illuminated nosings using LEDs have, due to their size, been limited to the front of the nosing on the face of the riser which means they can be seen only when going up the stairs. The LEDs have to be bright enough to illuminate the lower tread the resulting glare can prove visually distracting and possibly even a safety hazard.
LumaGrip™ uses Light Tape’s patented Electroluminescent technology combined with a transparent, anti slip 50mm wide tread that is illuminated without glare and can be seen when going both up and down the stairs.

LumaGrip™ Illuminated Anti-Slip inserts have been developed to fit into standard Aluminium and uPVC profiles, timber stairs and decking.
LumaGrip™ is available in a variety of sizes with either 6mm and 12mm Light Tape® illuminated strips for both indoor and outdoor applications in a variety of Light Tape® colours.
LumaGrip™ connections are embedded in an ip68 rated resin making the connections waterproof for outdoor use.
LumaGrip™ is expected to retail in the UK at £35.00 to £50.00 per linear meter dependant on configuration.

The use of Light Tape® in Bars
And now for something completely different! - USA
Light Tape® is used here to provide under lighting on sofas in a lounge bar creating a striking effect. The lights reflect off the floor of the room producing a truly unusual and visually stunning alternative to the more traditional wall and ceiling lighting.
Bar Glass Rack - USA
This picture shows a glass rack viewed upwards from beneath. Different coloured strips of Light Tape® have been fitted centrally between each of the wooden glass holding tracks that make up the rack as a whole. The Light Tape® is fitted lit side facing downward. When glasses are hung in place and the tape is lit the light floods through the hung glasses giving a dazzling display that adds a bright and colourful addition to any bar.
From ordinary to extraordinary - USA

Museum Floor lighting - Germany
This is another example of Light Tape® being used to provide direction. The picture shows Light Tape® affixed on the floor of a room in a museum. The lines leading off the central trunk of the design provide unique visual direction to the various displays within the room using light and colour as apposed to merely having the more traditionally used sign posting system.
University of California San Diego steps - USA
Here we have an example of Light Tape® being used to edge light steps at the San Diego campus of the University of California. Half Classic Media White Light Tape® strips in polycarbonate outdoor mounting extrusion were mounted into routed channels on the cement steps. The overall effect is visually pleasing, offers safety from tripping and does not produce glare or effect night vision.
An alternative way to light stairways - USA
Light Tape® can be used in more than one way to achieve the same objective as in this case where the aim is to light a staircase. Light Tape® is inset on both sides of the hand rail, either side of the stairs to achieve attractive luminous safety lighting that’s just a little different, that costs little to run.
Accent outdoor areas - Caribbean
If you want to add a dash of colour and light to an indoor or outdoor area to create a mood or emphasize a barrier/screen then Light Tape® is perfect for doing just that. Outdoor venues can benefit greatly from strategically placed lighting that will not detract from the main décor but add an air of sophistication rather than over decoration. 2" Extreme Blue-Green Light Tape® was used to accent around an exterior dining area at Marshall's Restaurant and Steakhouse in St. Kitts/Nevis; supplied and installed by International Purchasing Associates.
Marine Walking Path - Mexico
Light Tape® is an ideal lighting solution for use on all marine vessels as it offers the perfect solution to illuminating areas in which safety is a concern. It will provide a sustained lighting source during periods of poor visibility. Light Tape® is non bulky and non intrusive. It can lay flat against vertical surfaces on walkways and will not dazzle or effect night vision. Light Tape® Shelf edge lighting - UK
In retail Light Tape® can be used to add that something extra to acrylic shelving to set the display apart from all the rest. The shelving shown above, produced by Earlsmann, is lit using ¼” Light Tape® on the back of each shelf. The resulting light and colour floods through the acrylic to create an edge lighting that can be soft and subtle or more vibrant and eye catching.

In the games room - Canada
This is another way of adding light to a room using Light Tape® in an imaginative way. Not only is the overall effect striking but it gives the room a very different feel to that obtained when using other accent lighting. Fresh, clean and ultra modern.
Marble tile inset shelving - UK
Light Tape® is used here to brighten up marble tile inset shelving. Supplied through Earlsmann, the under lighting Acrylic Shelf Edge Lighting can be applied anywhere discreetly to great effect.
Safety work wear - Spain
Reflective strips on high visibility jackets and clothing are useful in providing some protection for workers who work at night or in low visibility weather, but the material relies on its interaction with external and/or environmental light to be effective. Light Tape® can be used as an extra safety feature on safety clothing as even in dark, misty conditions the wearer would be seen when the Light Tape® strip was lit.
Light Tape® offers added visual safety to anyone who works at night and in all weather conditions. If you are directing traffic at night or performing other nightly duties you will be seen when wearing a jacket or vest which incorporates Light Tape® in its composition. You can be seen!
