Light Tape UK and ProGrip Systems have developed the product to fit into standard Aluminum profiles, it will be available with 12mm and 25mm illuminated strips for both indoor and outdoor stairs with 2 (or 3) grades of anti slip, in a variety of colours for both the anti slip insert and Light Tape.

Because the connections will be embedded in resin the product will be waterproof for outdoor use and making it suitable for existing nosing's means you can retrofit.

Light Tape Architectural Display Lighting Tutorial Case Study

Light Tape® has been used to accentuate the stunning exterior of the Ambassadors Bloomsbury Hotel by providing a line of cool blue light on the glass fronted main entrance and patio and the ramped side entrance to number twelve contemporary Italian bar and restaurant.number twelve was recently nominated for Best Italian Restaurant of the year in the 2008 London Restaurant Awards.

    

The Light Tape® used at the Ambassadors Bloomsbury was supplied by Devon based reseller partner Earlsmann. Light Tape® was an ideal choice for this application and came pre fitted into a clear extrusion channel which protects the Light Tape® and provides a secure long term fixing method.

Eco friendly installation, the 25m of Light Tape® uses less than 25 Watts with an estimated annual running cost of less than £15.00, had a traditional display lighting product like Neon been the estimated power usage would have been 30 times more, to make the installation safe would have been almost impossible and would have been a maintenance nightmare for traditional Neon or Cold Cathode lighting.

Light Tape® uses less than one tenth of the power and is half the price of Neon and Cold Cathode display lighting, it is flexible, easier to install and maintain, reduces light pollution, produces no waste heat or infrared light, is fully recyclable, uses No Gas, No Glass and No Mercury.

A new method of connecting Light Tape has massively increased the products usefulness as a floor/wall mounted display light.

Light Tape was limited to one connection for each straight length now any angle can be produced between 0 and 90 degrees, couple this with Light Tape's ultra thin 0.5mm profile and it becomes a very useful directional lighting systems for Museums, Heritage Sites, Exhibitions and Safety systems.

Light Tape has been widely used to highlight exhibition stand plinths with Light Tape Corners and Floor Shield you can now produce a flat square, oblong or hexagonal shape on any finished wood, laminate or tiled floor surface

What is Light Tape?

Light Tape® could reduce CO2 output by 100’s of 1000’s of Tons every year, save millions of pounds worth of electricity, plus it’s the most environmentally friendly lighting product on the planet.

Light Tape is made up of metal ribbon coated in Sylvania phosphor and encapsulated in a Honeywell laminate. Light tape provides an 85% - 90% energy saving against other commercially available light sources such as Neon and Cold Cathode. Light Tape uses 1 Watt per Meter at 25mm (1”) wide, a 100m length of 25mm wide Light Tape only uses the same power as a 100w light bulb. Due to its ultrathin profile of less than 1mm Light Tape provides a neater, modern, space saving alterative that is easy to install with little to no maintenance and has a long working life of up to 40,000 hours.
